FROM the E65 (PRAGUE/Southwest)

Take the E65 (aka 10 or R11) towards Mladá Boleslav/Liberec to exit 27 Benátky nad Jizerou (route 272). Off exit turn Left (follow sign to "golf"). Follow this route for about 200m then turn Right towards Lipnik/Mledá Boleslav. Your route takes you through rural farmland and then a forest. You will pass the golf course on your left, then at the next intersection (where the roads become cobbled) turn Left in the direction of Lipnik. You pass through the village of Lipnik, stay straight and go through the village of Cachovice as well. In the village of Vlkava you will intersect a main road: turn Left and then immediately turn right (sign points to "Loucen").

The road then leads you into the St George Forest then into the village of Loucen. When you get to the "T" (at the store) turn left. You will see a sign for "Mcely" and the road curves to the right into more forest. Go slowly as you next turn is to the Right onto the small road signposted "Studce". Go into this village, then turn Left (signposted "Mcely").

As you enter the village of Mcely you will see ahead and up to your left, sticking out of the forest, the Church of St Wenceslas. This is actually about 100m from the Chateau which you might just get a glimpse of depending on the season.

Follow the main road which bends to the left through the village, pass this church on your right, and then take the next hard right (signposted "Chateau Mcely"); you are here!
