The internationally renowned MICHELIN Guide, with a 125-year tradition of culinary prestige, made history on December 11th in Mariánské Lázně, unveiling its first-ever nationwide selection for the Czech Republic.

For us at Chateau Mcely, Christmas arrived early with a truly magnificent gift: Restaurant Piano Nobile has been officially recognized as a MICHELIN – Selected Restaurant 2025. Our kitchen underwent rigorous evaluation by Michelin inspectors and proved the high quality of its dishes by excelling in all five key criteria: the quality and provenance of ingredients, mastery of flavor and technique, the harmony of the dish, the unique personality of the chef, and unwavering consistency across the entire menu and over multiple visits.

What the MICHELIN Guide says about us: “This wonderful chateau estate, steeped in history and boasting superb grounds, now also accommodates not only a stylish spa hotel but also an appealing dining option. The elegant dining room boasts beautiful chandeliers, high ceilings, and striking decorative porcelain displayed on shelves. When it comes to classic French cuisine, choose between à la carte dishes or a tasting menu. They also serve a children’s menu and event menus, e.g., Halloween or Christmas.”

With this latest accolade, the MICHELIN Guide completes the circle of excellence, complementing the one MICHELIN Key awarded to Chateau Mcely in October. This prestigious distinction evaluates the hotel as an overall experience, judging it against rigorous criteria: excellence in architecture and interior design; quality; consistency of service and comfort; unique personality and authenticity; value for money; and the property’s significant contribution to the guest experience within the destination. We are incredibly proud to announce that Chateau Mcely is one of only two properties in the Czech Republic (alongside the Four Seasons) to hold both a MICHELIN Key for hospitality and a MICHELIN Selected status for gastronomy. This milestone further cements our standing alongside our recent win at the World Culinary Awards as Best Hotel Restaurant 2025 and our recognition as one of the top Czech restaurants for 2026 with the “Three Lions” award.

This success brings immense joy to our entire team, led by Executive Chef Honza Štěrba. Honza has been at Chateau Mcely since its founding in 2006, reigning over the chateau kitchen with charm and humility since 2010. Known for his calm leadership and team-first mentality, Honza’s passion for cooking is defined by a commitment to perfection and a deep love of herbs and fresh, local ingredients. His imaginative dishes are a delicious reflection of the surrounding English park and the St. George Forest. Ultimately, this award honors the vision of our founders, Inéz and James Cusumano. It confirms that honest work, delivered with love and grounded in green principles, truly has the power to change the world for the better.
Thank you! #chooseloveeveryday
